Narrative Description of Activities

The central purpose of this corporation is the rescue and adoption of stray and abandoned animals. This is the central activity of the organization and approximately seventy-five percent of the total time is allocated to this activity. The president of the corporation and several unpaid volunteers are responsible for the rescue and care of the animals. This corporation operates exclusively in Suffolk County and the surrounding area in the State of New York; however, animals that have been rescued in other areas are also accepted. Currently, the activities of the organization are funded primarily through personal donations. In the future, donations will also be accepted on the corporation’s website.

The rescue and adoption of the animals furthers the corporation’s tax-exempt purpose in that this is the only avenue whereby the stray and abandoned animals will be able to find homes.

The secondary objective of the organization is to promote, foster and advance the proper care and treatment of animals. Approximately twenty-five percent of the total time is allocated to this activity. Each of the directors and several unpaid volunteers are instrumental in gathering and distributing information ot the general public regarding the prevention of cruelty to animals.

The promotion of the proper care and treatment of animals furthers the organization’s tax-exempt purpose in that this activity provides an avenue for animals to be properly cared for.

In the future, the corporation plans to increase the scope of its activities to other areas of New York State depending upon the number of volunteers who are recruited and the amount of funds raised.
